How will that remove the waste on the bottom? just curious, never had a tank with overflow.

is the drain idea good?

are you going to use gravel? if so then bottom drain may be a problem..... but you can always put in a standpipe to reach just above the gravel..... or a side drain...... as far as bottom waste being picked up by overflow usually fish will stir up any debris or you can add more current....... gravel will help break down any large poopy......

it's an onionfish :D

the biological filtration is in the waterfall. The waterfall are many containers placed on top of each other, and filled with filter media (ex. scrubbies). The water flows through one, and down into the other, until it finally returns to the tank. Lot's of aeration as well.

oh, ok. Thats a good idea then. I dont see any problems with it.
I aggree the pumps should be ok in the tank as long as there is a prefilter. Although you'll be cleaning the prefilter a lot.

no gravel. barebottom for me. Err, my tanks. Whatever

Thanks, i had no idea they could work like that. I thought for mechanical filtration you NEEDED some in-tank filter :)

depends upon micron size...... you really dont need to polish the water too much...... otherwise you may have to change out daily:(
