Is this a good price for an Asain aro?

Green is more prettier, imho. More wild like appearance. Banjars losse it when they age.

Are the red aros varients "articfical" meaning that they were CB selective breeded? That species are the "wild" varients?

Lix, where and what is this store? Sounds like something I gotta check out.

It lucky's aquarium in Markham Ontario. It's right beside Pacific mall. Ton of nice aros and exotic fish. Bet you'll like it!

That's where i'm going to buy an aro to cohab with my armatus.

Get a green, if budget is an issue. Also, imho, a green is more tough to share a tank with an Armatus.

I agree with Miguel, the banjars I've seen look pinkish when larger, not particularly attractive.

I've lost count of the times I've said this, but price should be the last thing you consider when buying an arowana. Add up the cost of a 360g+ set up, 10 years worth of water and electricity to run it, and all the food you'll feed and suddenly the $600 difference you're talking about between a chilli red and a banjar seems pretty insignificant. Low grade aros are great for people who want to put a dozen of them in an outdoor pond, but if you want a centrepiece for an aquarium at least fork out the extra to get a reasonable RTG. You're going to be looking at it for years to come and spending thousands on housing, feeding and maintaining it, at least get a fish that will look good in 5 years time!

Exactly the abowe. Worth every penny to get a good one from the start.
