Is this a good price for an Asain aro?

keep in mind that green is the most aggressive in Asian Arowana

banjar red is not red at all, it got pink fins, and greenish scales

With your budget, I'd say banjar red, because there isn't any small green in the market at the moment. If you can fork out an additional $100 - $200, then go for a Red Tail Gold.

As for the banjar red, go haggle them for 180, 190 for it! :)

There aren't much demand on Aro and big fish at the moment, so the haggling might work! :)

ya I would say it's a good deal but it also depends on the quality of the aro I paid 60$ for my silver when he was about 3 inches and was in decent condition:asianarow
 
RTG has 4th level shine...
It reasonable price for what you get comparatively..
I just bought a high back gold(5th level shine) If i am lucky and I get 5 and a half level shine then its a Super High back...

All asian aros sold should be micro chipped and CB. Any wild asian aros sold should be illegal anywhere. All banjar reds are actually hybrids between reds and greens/yellow tails. Ppl with no knowledge of asian aros are sometimes fooled into buying banjars as reds as they look the same to untrained eyes. DO not buy a banjar thinking it will turn red, it will not. If u just wanna keep an aro for fun just buy a green and save ur money. Make sure u got a big enough tank.

Showcase aros all come with a price. Few RTGs or even HBRTGs can match a crossback or red.

RTG, HBRTG and Super HBRTG can all achieve 6th lvl if very lucky. They also might stop at 4th lvl if unlucky.

The rumor is that HBRTG are a cross between XB and RTG. I have nv gotten confirmation of that but most ppl think HBRTG are suppose to achieve higher shine. But my old normal RTG was starting to clear 5th lvl before I sold him at 2 yrs old, he was raise totally in a black tank. So to me other then shine, it is also abt pearlies. RTG should not have pearlies while HBRTG might have some.
 
Also keep in mind that each Asian Arowana that import into Canada require a $90ish permit per fish, regardless it's a green or a crossback gold.

With the latest incident with Lucky's, I don't think anyone would risk of smuggling baby green in anytime soon :)
