I got one. He doesnt move very much but he changes colors when hes trying to hunt a feeder

You shouldn't be feeding him feeders: http://www.**************.com/forum/library/feeding/feeders/

I used to have a breeding pair, and i agree they were some of the easiest puffers to keep... although i have been second guessing their adult size... as i've seen some in a shop almost 8 months ago now that looked to be easily 10" if not more...

As per the OP's question, yes that is a Palembang...

10"s? I've had mine for about 3 years and he seems to be maxed out at 6".

These seem to be one of the few puffers that will tolerate tankmates. I keep mine with snakeheads and catfish.

One of the weirdest things about this fish is that they can CLOSE THEY'RE EYES. I just thought that I was really high and then I seen him do it again a couple weeks later.

Nice palembang OP

^ Yes, i've seen my palembangs do that in the past, as well as my fahaka...

As for tank mates, mine sort of tolerated them for a bit, but really depended on which ones...

The only thing i wish i did was take a photo of that pair of really large palembangs coz i was completely shocked to see how big they could get... maybe next time if that shop gets some in again i'll see if i can pull a ninja move and snap a quick pic... since 8 months ago was the 2nd time they had some that large...

Are you guys measuring with tail or without?

i'm talking about with tail...

Used to have one of these guys. He destroyed everything in my tank. As soon as my lights went off he would take down a tankmate. Definitely be careful with have any tankmates with it. Cool fish to keep though!
