I have these Gars from 2 years.. They have hardly grown from 6 inch to 10 inch (usual gars grow over a foot in a year) n also I feed them every single day until they are full.

They had very minimal faded markings when they were young n now the markings are disappearing one by one every month. They were always silverish or platinum in color from beginning. Do you guys think these are the rare.. Lepisosteus occulatus “Platinum var. Florida Gar”.

After doing a lot of research on various forums n articles.. I found this interesting sentence..
" These fishes have genetic disorder in their pigmen such as - Platinum,Albino, Xanthic, Leucistic, Hypomelanistic, Erythristic and etc."

What do you guys think? Please help to identify IMG_20160907_150253.jpg IMG_20160907_150420.jpg IMG_20160907_150253.jpg

Sorry I can't help you with your gar ID or how rare it is as I know nothing about them.

But I had to tell you that you have the one of - if not the the most BEAUTIFUL gar I've ever seen!

And welcome to MFK. :)
