I think hes a male because of his color. I hope so because I have a tank full of males that I know of and 1 female rose queen that might be a problem in the future. She my favorite.

How can you tell? I was told the spot needs to be in top half of fin. Is that right? Is mine real?

The first 2 stripes should form a Y of sorts behind the gills it can be tricky when they are younger as they seem to be able to fade their stripes on to off. Alot of people get rooked on buying red terrors if you were told they were festea get your money back.
