"Red frontosa are hypomelanistic.
A strain developed in the far east, most likely from a burundi type, but like Flowerhorn, its lineage can be mixed.

Are there red frontosa in the lake?

anything is possible, I have never seen or heard of a WILD red frontosa, and trust me, if a wild red frontosa was caught, it would be sold for quite a bit of money, and we would know about it.

Maybe a Wild Red Frontosa was found, maybe a couple, but there is not a group of Wild Red Frontosa swimming around."

oh yea i know that it is some pigment missing so its possible i guess cuz ive seen a albino catfish in clear lake so why wouldnt there be a slightly lighter colored frontosa

"Its a genetic mutation.
In basic terms you need two compounds to create melanin which give fish the black colors.
if you miss one you get brownish/orange.
If you miss both you get yellowish/white.

the red frontosa is missing one part of the process."

I guess there is red frontosa, but I'm no fan of it...rather have normal looking frontosa that aren't bred exclusively for their brown/orange color

not to many people are a fan of it. mainly because the frontosa is already a mega graceful fish that it dont need to be changed
