hmmm....I just saw a vendor in Chicago that have a bunch of those. I don't recall him wanting that much for them tho. I think they want $200 or something for them. Maybe I could buy a bunch and grow them out. But then again, I've just lost over 100 of ST wannabe Indo. I just don't know what to do.:(:(:(

If it's $200 and have the same quality as sturgeonlover's pic

I will take it and take my chance

I will even trade my AT + IT + $100 for it :D

I am dying for a fish that looks 99% like a ST! :D It sure beat the $1500+ wholesaler price

If people said my previous ST is a ST, then I am perfectly fine with sturgeon's pic...

They looks identical to me (95%)

To me, $200 worth risking! If same quality :D

Some one wants to sell me this locally in Long Island for 400$, he said its 3-4 inches and just said it is a wide bar. What do you guys think this guy is? Looks like Indo, i'm no dat expert but looks like a nice Indo. I didnt go see it yet, about an hour drive. He said he has more than one. Let me know what you guys think.

PS: he said thats the actual picture of the fish and texted it to me.

these are all of the so called Cambodian tigers, etc...Indo like tail pattern, whatever you want to call it. Its pretty much the only thing available right now resembling the original ones from Chaophraya river in Thailand

The scientific name may all be datnioides pulcher, and yes that is the correct spelling of the genus name, its not mispelled.

Here is a picture of one exported to China, they paid about $500.00 usd for it, notice the sweeping tail band, that is what the true Datnoids from Thailand look like.

But again, we should all be ashamed of ourselves for wanting this fish so bad as its already facing extinction from multiple sources I've talked to that live in Thailand.

Large ones are available in aquarium shops around Asia but no successful breeding has been documented regularly yet.

People get their panties in a wad for someone selling an endangered specie, or feel so bad about the habitat loss of the Amazon should also lend some understanding into this situation as well.

Sorry to say you just can't I'd a tiger from a pic of just one side you need pics of both sides

A fish that may look a little like ST from one side may look like 100% IT from the other

This fish looks nice from this side but the body shape does look like IT if it looked the same on the other side and the price was a lot cheaper than $400 I would buy it

This fish has a real bad eye which doesn't look like it will ever heal

I wouldn't buy a fish with one eye no matter what the price I probably wouldn't even take it if it was for free but hey that's just me :D

Interesting remarks coming from someone who sold them in the past.

when I was selling them it was about 4 years ago or more, when I did not know that they were endangered at all.

I'm just coming to realization that they are. Also, I'm not a very uptight conservationist myself, I think that the hobby is not what places most species endanger, but actually brings more awareness.

There are other commercial food fishing, and environmental pollutions that lead to the demise of many species.

The comment was more directed at people who claim to be high and almighty in regards to endangered animals and such.
