Is this a true platinum jard?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Getting $250 store credit. So that's at least something. Would feel completely satisfied about it if they gave me another $500 on top of that to make up for the actual gap in value and what I paid, but I'm reduced from chooser to beggar status, it seems. Still, 500 down the hole + a fish I wouldn't have otherwise purchased is better than $750.

As an aside, I think I'll call this an "I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Platinum" aro, and hire Fabio to market it.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!! I know you aren't in the happiest place right now, but it's good that you can joke about it. Regardless, you've got a beautiful fish now. I hope to own my own jardini soon, and I'd like to thank you for sharing your experience with everyone. I know I learned a ton from this thread, all of which will be taken into consideration when I set up my tank and pick out my aro.... not that I'm hunting for a platinum though. My wife is PISSed that I bought the 180 gallon in the first place. Can you imagine what she would do to me if I can home with 3 months worth of car payments in the form of a fish?!?!?:nutkick:

Best of luck with the fish man!

So the plat/hi-shine silver aro I saw Hao selling is only worth $350? Is thabecause it has drop eye or just cause leuc silvers are more common?

There are two types of leucistic silver aros.(tyrosinase-negative leucistic and tyrosinase-positive leucistic) I have the cheaper and more common one but they are still rare.(negative) Worth only a few hundred to a grand or two depending on the quality. The other type is much rarer and cost couple grand. (positive).

Also the common name of tyrosinase positive leucistic silver aro is the snow platinum silver aro and tyrosinase negative leucistic is high shine platinum silver. As for jardini, ive only seen a tyrosinase negative leucistic one. So jardinis only called platinum jardini for now haha.

I've seen all those picture you have posted came from a Imperial Arowana website. The 2nd photo is an albino Asian Aro, not a Jardini. Nice try!
