Is this an Albino?

Jstanley, Luecistic is my best guess also. Not sure if your asking the species but that I know, F1 Aulonocara Sp. Chitande Type Masinje. I have raised this lil guy from eggs, so I am possitive on the ID. What I have been told by people have been: Runt, Deformed, Injured, Scared to death and Luecistic. From all the reading and looking I have done I would agree with Luecistic most. I have not had anyone say YES IT IS yet just I THINK IT IS. So that is the best I can say right now. Wish I knew more.

yeah was wondering bout the species hahaha. guess i shoulda been more specific! i say luecistic b/c of the "common" morphs of reptiles, so i would say tht fish could have the same morph/gene traits

I agree with the Luecistic guess

I have a question, So if this guy is a luecistic would that make his siblings having the Albino Gene? Or would that be something totally different?

Your peacock being luecistic is probably just a mutation. If i were you I would breed he/she with an albino and see what I get.:naughty::naughty::idea:

Ice Blue, I would love to find an Albino Aulonocara Sp Chitande Type Masinje. But some how I think that would be next to impossible. I can barely find these guys at all. Last wild caught I saw forsale was in 2009 and they went fast, luckily I did get some and those are this guys parents. But when they began to breed the male died. I have had more on order for over 2 months and yet to get them in. So an albino would be near impossible to get.

I'm not familiar with fish genetics. I'm more of a reptile guy, but if the genetics are the same it could be leucistic., the lack of pigmentation, but still retaining the normal eyes.

I got a pic of this guy last night so I wanted to share his progress. Not the best pic but the best one of him I got. He is tough to get a pic of.

Sorry have to resize it, will post when done

Here is an updated pic.
