I just got this guy last week. My first Poly. Noticed these tiny little worm looking things on him today at feeding time. I have read about Anchor Worms but I have never seen them. Is that what these are? If so, then what is the best course of treatment. He is alone in the tank... Any info would be much appreciated! I am already in love with this fish...his name is Earl :D

I can't tell from the pic. Any close up pics? They don't look like anchorworms to me. I had an infestation before and the ones on the pic are too small to be anchorworms. Anchorworms are crustaceans by the way, not worms.

i am seeing worms just like that on some of my polys... So ill just use this thread instead of making a new one...

Is it the Macrogyrodactylus polypteri ?
If so, does Methylene Blue (1/2 a dose) kill it ?

Another thing, i read somewhere that you should turn off your UV light when medicating. Is that true ?

He won't stop moving enough for me to get a closer pic without the flash...and the flash just washes them out. They don't look like the other pictures that I have seen of anchor worm. They are very tiny...and very skinny...don't seem to be bothering him.

looks like ich O_O

um...yeah...definitely not ich... Incase there is any confusion, I am talking about the little wormy thing coming out of the top of his head in the picture.
