Is this darn pis disease ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yes they are though it looks really pain full. gotta tell yeas though im worried about this poor guy these growths seem to be spreading to his head. w/e this is its the first time i have ever seen it ! the majority of the time he has hit doral down and you see all the pimple like growths. The ones on his head are no were near the size of the ones on his dorsal. I have treated with pazi and will treat with mel blue and see how it goes. Ummm the position of these pimps though loeads me to believe thats its not from fighting. For the life of me i cannot find a pic of a dat with the dat disease. This hasn't spread to any other fish yet but hes in quarantine for wile i supect.

I believe you can treat it with heavy salt and increased temperature. And good parameters. Salt treatment is always better than chemical treatment

Doesn't look like dat disease but treat with salt, pimafix, melafix and water change every couple days. I've seen this pop up before.

what they said

ok thanks, is this a bad case in comparison to what you have seen ? do you know the name ?

It's always bad to see it and not sure if there's really a name for it... That's why you treat with all the stuff I mentioned cause what you have is a mix of everything. It looks fungal but it's probably fungal and bacterial aswell.

X2 the main thing in this case is change water 40 % this should take case that , I got one ct like that before it took 2 weeks for the white fungal go away and he will grow his spike Back to normal like 6 month

well doing a water change daily and adding fresh salt to the tank, hes gotten alot better. The sores underneath his dorsal fin have almost healed completely and his dorsal fin itself has started to grow skin back over his spikes. I gotta say its nice to see him put his dorsal up again. help full advice guys TY i can save this fish !!!! and that makes me happy !!!!!

How in earth did that happen. ??
All the skin has been tirn awat from the entire length of the mohawk!!!
Now occasionally after some tiger scrapping... you may get one or two mohawk spikes loose there skin.. but not all of the.???

Glad that u mention its healing now.
Just keep on top of your water quality. Keep doing x 2 water changes per week without fail. Make sure you remove any fish that could possibly be picking on it.

Poor water quality will only make it worse.
