i think its a ich, i just got one new WC IT in the wet market cost about 15$, which is 3 inch size, just raise up water temperature, do water changes 20%, i use japanese yellow powder medicine together with salt which works perfectly fast and easy, took me 5 days it fully recovered, japanese yellow powder is good anyway, cure nearly all fish diseases, can try on that.

From what I've seen with my dats. Small indo or silver dats can get it from self defense wounds from other tankmates. You know, the face down and spike out mode. The fungus go away after days have passed, but I believe the salt is an aid. I'll admit that my bioload has always been up there, and probably the main contributor to the white dorsal fungus.
Possible solution: If the fighting continues. Your dat will have the clear looking spikes exposed from the damaged membrane often. So, maybe remove the severum temporarily during the healing process.
