Like most "designer" fish that are mostly bred for looks, flowerhorns have sensitive gastrointestinal systems, so best to avoid anything that can potentially negatively affect their system. Mine were all raised strictly on pellets.

So blood parrots falls under the same category?

And is not to feed them live food or frogs only?

I've seen people suggest feeding lots of fatty/greasy foods but i wouldn't bank on anything that's using the hump growth as a selling point. seems all fish oil to me, no pun intended.
