Is this Gar a spotted or Florida?

I bought this gar off a friend who bought it as a spotted, but after looking at pics and ID threads i think it may be a florida gar. Here is a pic of him, is he a florida gar?

not in california they're not. I was wounding how he got a gar since they are supposed to be illegal in CA. BTW, i got it from Deep Blue Sea

Really? Here in Central Florida they are EVERYWHERE! Believe or not, I had to special order my gar. It must be demand rather than supply.

I've had the pleasure of owning one.. I agree they are nice, but they tend to be a bit on the skittish side; buying them in shoals is preferred...
