Is this Gar a spotted or Florida?

I like north american natives, that fact that its not native is pissing me off. Now i have two false gars!!!
They don't get too big... And just cause you live in CA doesn't mean you can't get a Gar. Just keep your eyes open at your LFS(s) and you're bound to see some sooner or later. Sure they are illegal, but you can still find them at most fish stores in CA, especially So. Cal
you can find a florida gar at ocean blue in orange i went about a week ago and they had 4 more thats where i got mine he even offered me a true alligator gar that was only about 3 inch at the time but i didn't see him no more when i went back
just remember they need large tank cuz they can grow to over 24" in length what size tank you have???

i have a 55 now, but am planning to get a 200 with in the next year, i don't have room for any other fish right now, i might look into getting a gar agian once i have a bigger tank

If it's already in the state then there is no reason he can't pick it up and enjoy it. Probably better it's someone from here that knows how to be responsible with the fish and not let it go in a lake or something.
