Is this good lighting for my WC devil

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Np we all learn. And that combos is how u make black and reds pop. 6500k plus varied reds spaced right. We even built this to go with a black painted tank in mind. I'm growing like plants now with ease too. The wild devil doesn't touch them, I'm amazed. My swords grew almost 6" in a week... He/She is one hell of a digger though.

As a final thought you could look into the thread about the use of probiotics http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/fo...in-Aquaculture. I have never tried this with regards to the elimination of Cyanobacteria but it would be an interesting experiment and if successful would be a ground breaking revelation in the area of competitive exclusion in regards to the use of probiotics. It wouldn’t hurt to try it first before going to the Erythromycin. It might be the treatment of the future if successful and defiantly a pioneering breakthrough in this area.

Been there, done that, and wrote about it and competitive exclusion in the sticky that you linked to, Tom. Does that make me a pioneer, or just an old fart with too much time on his hands? :)

4. A tank that I have been fighting a cyanobacteria outbreak for a number of months now no longer has any signs of cyanobacteria slime/algae. A different species of algae (in a very small quantity) has managed to now displace it.

I wouldn't make any definitive conclusions over that single experiment, in that one tank, but I personally do believe that it helped finish off a cyano outbreak that I had been fighting for months. (without using erythromycin)

The cyano isn't directly hamful per se but it's a sign somthing is wrong which needs to be addressed. My post gave you clear direction. I would strongly you get some Rid-X and try it.

I will do a treatment when the female isn't guarding she likes to bite me as for the male he has to be placed in a bucket for a little bit

Sounds like male to me is it the red color of the light that makes the colors pop if so I could hang up the led and place another light on the glass top

it's a bunch of factors, the light goes 6500k,6500k, 625nmRED, 6500k, 6500k, 6500k, 6500k, 730nmFAR RED, 6500k, 6500k, 6500k, 6500k, 625nmRED,6500k, 6500k then it repeats 4 times, hence the outter edges having only two 6500's so when they meet the next strip it's 2+2, then reds.

follow up on different factors, check this link. this is the tech data behind this spectrum. http://buildmyled.com/custom-report-details/?partNo=PS4890S101AASAAAAUAAAASAA

not to poo poo fluvals setup but thats super low lumens for that size light also. my 48" is 5400, the 60" is 6500 lumens, of true lumens. Fluval, Marine land, aqueon etc all projects value prior to loss, like the 3000 ish fluval states.
