+1Heat alone doesn’t do it, it would still need to be combined with salt and ich. The 10 day salt and heat method worked for me.

In my tank, the only plants harmed were hornwort and aponogeton. Both have since regrown/started to regrow. This was 2 weeks ago.I found a product called kordon ick attack, it’s supposed to be plant and shrimp safe… my tank is planted, so wanted to stay away from salt (also snails and shrimp).
I do have a bottle of api super ick cure. It says to use half dose for sensitive fish. Not sure who would sensitive in my tank (2 rope fish one African butterfly fish). I am currently hunting down my rabbit snails. I have a really big one (2 1/2 inches) a smaller one and they had a baby (almost impossible to find because it’s small). In my tank, the only plants harmed were hornwort and aponogeton. Inverts are a different story though.
I just thought of something. I have read that you can transfer ick to other tanks, for example using a net in an infected tank and not allowing it to completely dry and then use it in another tank, and its spread… moving my snails to my 5 gallon african dwarf frog tank, could this spread ich to my other tank?I do have a bottle of api super ick cure. Not really too concerned about the shrimp (they will be food one day). But plants, can api super ick be used in a planted aquarium?
l did reach out to the lfs where I purchased them. I explained that I believe the two ropes I purchased have ich/ick and that I have three rabbit snails in a planted tank. I also told her I do have a bottle of api super ick treatment on hand. I was told that they use ich x on their tanks and it will not harm snails or plants. She said it may stain (which idc about, i like fish not decorations). I did order a bottle from Amazon.Looking at those fish, I'd treat for ick.
3lbs salt per 100 gallons (rock salt, water softener salt, table salt any kind of NaCl.
I like water softener salt, I throw in 3 lbs all at once in a 100 gal tank, and it dissolves gradually. https://hosting.photobucket.com/alb...6b072e5.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&fit=bounds
Was about $5 for 50 lbs
I am a bit confused now by the directions. When I bought ich x it says to use ultimate or a mix of two of their other products. I received the ultimate and the ultimate says not to use with medication that has dye, like malachite green… well that’s what the ich x has an ingredient. So why would ich x say to use ultimate, then ultimate say not to use with ich x. I did send a message to manufacturer to get clarification…. It’s been a long waiting game trying to save my fish. I attempted to raise tank temp to 86F, but for some reason the two heaters I have (both 300w) are cranked up to 90 and the temp is only at 84.7…. I also ordered a new heater.I second the kordon product. I used it in my planted tank and it had no effect on the plants, shrimp or snails. Worked great. Some sort of all natural herbal remedy.
