You will get attached to all your fish...so later you might not want to give it away :P

Yeah I've thought about this as well. I don't really have a prob with it if he has a good home.

Anyways I got the little tsn yesterday. I've got him to eat bloodworms, brineshrimp, and carnivore pellets. I'm not sure what species he is but I think he is The common type(the one that starts with an "f"). I have him in a ten so I can work with getting him healthy because his little rib cage is showing. He's not shy nor very skittish(knock on wood) and loves to swim around and up and down the glass even when the light is off. Here is a pic of him chillaxin on a fake plant.

I think you can do it. If you're looking out for signs of trouble, and heed those warnings, you'll be fine. You got my vote!

He's a cute little guy, by the way. I love that pic! It's so awesome!

Awesome. Thanks for the support. I'll keep updating on this thread so I don't have to explain to a lot of folks about why I have one in a 75 lol. I've already talked to local fish keepers who said they would Take him when he gets 15". So yeah I'm stoked

Ill add my 2¢ I don't see why not, if your going to rehome it before it gets to the 15" mark.
NOT DIRECTED TO ANYONE PERSONALLY!!!!!!!!
For all of those who says you're not responsible because you cant house it for life, you need to get a life. I have never seen someone post that toward anyone who wants to sell or give a fish away and says "I'm going another direction"

Now for those that say "**** HAPPENS" your right it does, therefore if your that scared you need to sell-off/giveaway your livestock, tanks, and get out of the hobby because your not guaranteed to live another day therefore why are you housing something that You may not be able to care for its entire life.
This is just my 2¢ take it or leave it.

I saw the other thread about eating it you could always do that. Lol

If you need to ask other people if it's responsible, than you already know it isn't and are just looking for an excuse.

Usually, people who "go another direction", don't have fish that are hard or impossible to house properly. Buying fish that outgrow most tanks with full knowledge of having to pass them on to somebody else, is not responsible. Also, you don't know in what state the other party is going to be when you need to get rid off it. Not to mention that the OP seems to have a poor understanding of reality (judging from the we're full of cash, I can do anything comments) and his understanding of "yeah, sure man, I can accept any fish you have problem with" differently than the other party in the agreement who might not be looking forward to the nice future 4' surprise.

If the other party has space and wants a large TSN, he can easily adopt one. By buying one and passing it on later, you're a) supporting importation of fish unsuitable for usual aquaria and b) denying another miserable TSN a place in your buddy's dream tank that you so much love talking about.

So no, it's never responsible.

Acceptable, maybe, but not responsible.

It's obviously not responsible. If worst comes to worst I can give it back to my LFS. They said they would take it if it was under 2'. I don't know what they exactly do w/ it but they said they have a huge rescue tank were they keep fish they cant find a home for.
