i am going to get two of the hydro 5s to go along with this system and i think this is very do able lets run this down

tank will be set up as follows
1 75gal. (black panted bottom nothing else)

Filtration
1FX5 loaded with zeocarb, amonia remover, polishing pad, and pot scurbbies
2 hydro 5s run by airstone
filter media to be checked weekly till decided how often to change
(looking into fluval lab series Nitrate Remover also)

Airation
1 Tetra whisper 300 (rated to 150 gal)
2 blue 12" bubble stones

Inhabitants
up to 1000 golds (less if i get bigger 2"+)
Diet tetrafin goldfish flake

estimated dalily loss is to be around 3% for first two days (inital shock)

weekly or by weekly mantance
50% water change (or more depending on water perameters)
aquarisol
water conditioner
stress coat (all added with water change)
water perameters checked every 2-3 days

now knowing this is it still so hard to belive that this is possible

yes LFS golds do have a tendency to carry illness but i plan on buying bulk and they will go stright from there supplier to MY tank no middle man

i will take some pics of this setup later tonight(give me like 15 min) as for now the tank has the FX5 and a SMALL airstone with 75-100 golds in it the rest is on the way i ordered it all last night so by the end of the week it should be here and i will take more pics then and post them

these are the pics i told u guys i'd put up tonight remeber two things
1. there are about 75-100 golds in there allready
2. the rest of the equipment i said i'd have is on the way and ill repost more pices when i get it all

i have the glass tops but i need to clean them thats why they are not on in these pics

One word of caution, don't add a thousand feeders to the tank in one shot. The filter can't adapt that fast. Add them 100 at a time spaced about a week apart. You should also consider adding a drip system. The water quality will stay much better. Plus you won't have to take time out of your day for water changes.

i dont' want to put anymore money into this then i allready have so the drip system is out of the picture and i was thinking about doing it at 100 or so at a time but i'm still not sure maybe 100 at a time till i get to 500 then 250 and then 250 more i am trying to get away from going to get feeders all the time thats the whole reason im doing this but once i know the filters can handle the load i will buy some about every 250-500 so the bio load does not go from 1000-0 and back to 1000 that i know just won't work at all

HAHAHA. Finally someone found a flaw. How would he buy a bulk load of 1000 feeders, but only add them 100 at a time? Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Or, maybe he has another 9 cycled tanks hanging around. Although, if he had another 9 cycled tanks, does that mean he could have 9000 feeders? Oh, but then again, he couldn't add the whole lot at once so 9x9 over a period of 10 weeks, to the .............. HAHAHA. Sorry couldn't resist.

Good luck man, let us know the outcome.

ill keep ya updated and yeah i got one flaw in the plan but if the only flaw that u can find is the amount of fish i will add at one time over a period of time to get my 1000 then u must agree with the rest that it CAN be done :nilly: ill keep ya posted like i said as soon as i get the rest of my equip and set it up ill repost the pics and keep ya updated on how its doing i think this will work out pretty good but i can honestly say i am not 100% sure on this now but i can also say this IF it doesn't work i got a 75 gal set up for anything i want all ill need is fish

I think the tank will be under filtered in this case. I may be wrong buy feeders are messy ans have quite a load. But its not a bad idea if you can filter the water well enough. Good luck
