Some of those fish don't belong together.

Which ones?

You going to add some fish the swim around the middle of the tank..

I had this idea to throw a breeding group of guppies in there too....since they reproduce so easily and often. I'm kind of hoping it would be a steady supply of live food for those days I work 18 hours.

Most of the fish in this setup could easily go a few days without food. Many would consider feeding them daily to be excessive. They would also wipe out any potential prey in the tank withing a few days.

What are the dimensions on your tank? With the species you want foot print is much more important than gallonage. I wouldn't recommend freshwater cudas in anything less than a 6' tank

Wait a minute lad, which barracuda are you thinking about? I'm talking about the little Acestrorhynchus Isalinae that are reported to get about 4-6 inches. Not their larger name-sharing cousins Ctenolucius hujeta that get ~14 inches.

Regardless of size, freshwater cudas can be high strung and are capable of swimming very fast in short bursts when startled. In a 4' tank there really isn't much room for them to do that without them hitting the glass. That being said it can be done if you keep the tank in a low traffic area and have some sort of visual barrier on the sides of the tank whether it be allowing some algae growth or planting tall plants next to the glass.

No problem there, I'd be the only traffic that sees time around the tank. It's being set up in my "gun room" so the girlfriend almost never comes in here.

And I'm in the process of building a nifty 3D background that will also cover the back, and half of the two side glasses. They way I'm envisioning should leave just the front window open for viewing, and very little of the sides.

Why not go with a school of Cuda 3-4 and one bottom feeder like an eel. I wouldnt trust the Endi as the Cudas will become lunch as Endis get rather large.

I

2 or 3 Needle fish : Xenentodon cancila
1 American eel: Anguilla rostrata (pending since I can't find any)
1 Rope fish: Erpetoichthys calabaricu
2 or 3 Peacock eels: Macrognathus aculeatus
1 Crying whiptail: Loricaria sp.Rio Atabapo
1 Bristlnose pleco: Ancistrus Sp.
1 Endlicheri bichir: Polypterus endlicheri (you lads finally talked me into liking these things.)

the 2 highlighted are really the "problem children" of the tank, they will outgrow it within a year or two. however 50% WC's aren't too crazy, it's what I do on my 75, two 18 gallon totes a week it's not as bad as it sounds takes like 20 minutes tops
