ISO spiny eels!

Should be fine with the tankamtes. Theye are aggressive to other eels.

I have a lid on the aquarium and do not think he will be able to escape through the tiny gaps but I do not know hot thick the eel is yet but I do have glass which I can put on the aquarium if I have to.

Does anyone know how their behavior is etc? This is my first time having a eel. Somethings that I need to watch out for or anything I need to know before getting him / her?

on the tiny gaps I had a 13" black spotted eel make it through the .5"x6" gap where the HOB filter and lids met
 
That is a huge gap comparing to my gaps. the biggest gap I have is about 4". You think the 4" gap will still be a problem? But I will try and cover the tank with a glass lid. the wood lid will then only be for display purpose. (I'm trying to get the glass lid from the seller I bought the tank from.) just hope I can manage to get it from him.

what amazed me was mine was able to squirm through a 1/2" gap that was 6" long it was like a snake under a door. I'd get the glass lids

I havent seen the zebra eel online or the borneo python online when I have looked. I have seen both available locally though here in Texas.

Where are you from? Try asking your local store if they can order them.

That's where I purchased my two eels. They are a little higher, but I do love the selection.
