I agree with Darthodo.... he is a little bit far to risk his male (although fish have made longer trips than that). But... something or someone has got to give. It's not like you're giving something away or to an inexperience hobbyist .... it for the betterment of this hobby. (and to help my collection since I'll be first in line for fry! )

You are right, and I have been thinking the same thing. But once I shipped a 9 inch midas male to someone in Texas and it worried me so much I decided not to do it again. The fish got there okay, but the anxiety I went through ain't worth it. Like I said, maybe the magic of the ACA will produce something.

Just be glad you don't live in North Central Kansas: Here is a list of EVERY cichlid in LFSs within 100 miles:

That seems to be the theme for anyone and everyone with one of either sex. "I'll hold on to mine in hopes of someone wanting to get rid of theirs". It's like having a six pack of beer and the guy down the street has the only bottle opener! Although there are ways around that.... but you get my point.

BTW, get in touch with that guy and share those growouts already.

Gani your Istlanum need's a mate already! Like Sean said, someone or something has got to give. I think if anyone does it here locally in SoCal its going to be 1FatDovii or Gani. So someone give Gani what he needs, and 1FatDovii do your thing!
