Thanks Sean. I wish it was that easy. Hopefully they breed even with a divider. There's a 1 inch space in between the tank floor and the divider.

It could happen. Tien's grammodes spawned thru the divider without him knowing.... now he has 200-300 fry he doesn't know what to do with!

What up G? I have one 2.5" Istlanum left that I suspect has bloat.

Whats your advice; temp up or down?

I tried both and temp down worked. (76-78). Epson salt and daily water change (around 20%). I tried different meds too and I think tetracycline worked the best. The other meds I tried = clout, pazi, metro (general cure).

tank space is always an issue when you have breeding cichlids.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a shot.

my istlanum responded very well with the following:

- 82F
- epsom salt
- clout

i had them in a 10 gallon hospital tank and they had bloat for around 1 week but are now 100% again. i wish i had better success with my other fish in the past.

looks good, gani :)
just need to get them to spawn now.

i used the eggcrate / light diffuser. there are plenty of holes. the acrylic divider with the gap in between probably boils down to whether the male is a straight shooter ;)
i know most of sean's fish are bent (just like him. aside from the two male motas), so that's never been an issue of concern for him :ROFL:

man they look nice the female look to be healthy again:popcorn:

Thanks G. I'm glad she's fine now. I spent some $ from fish med but it's worth it.

Sweet fish

Love these fishes for their amazing trailers.

Trailers are amazing. You can't really appreciate one until you see them in person and look closely. From afar, they look like a gray fish, but closer, different story. I love their personality too. Very outgoing.
