Istlanums and yellow labridens

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I will wait until they become more hardy for the bartoni. The pantos are only 2" so i havent seen any aggression yet, if they become they will be on there own. how aggressive would you say a breeding pair would be? jag aggression level or higher?there's not alot of info on the rarer herichthys.
your pair looks great i like the breeding dress and body shape. good luck with the fry

The pantos aggression was by far higher than any jag I've ever had of equal size. My male panto's aggression really impressed me, probably one of the toughest fish for their size (4.5") that I've owned.

As far as a breeding pairs, I've never had one, but I'm sure they can hold their own as with most breeding cichlids. Breeding jags can be pretty mean though.

Great looking Istlanums! Great fish I miss mine =(

Did you collect those balsas cichlids and yellow labs yourself, or where and how did you get them?? Thanks!

Joe,

Where are my red phase istlanums? :D How about those "white tilapia"? Are you going to get those in the near future?

I know a source that you can get some large yellow labriens and regular istlanums.

Are your bartoni and labridens from Media Luna? I collected there but we were not able to find a single bartoni. It was a crazy collecting trip, we had soldiers with machine guns just around the corner from us. At one point one of them came to us and we thought he was going to make us leave (Media Luna is a swimming hole/park for the locals) but he just did not want us in the area we were about to enter. It was really sort of thrilling since we were wondering if they were going to confiscate any of our stuff. One of the people with us had his scuba gear and a pretty expensive camera.
