Did you collect those balsas cichlids and yellow labs yourself, or where and how did you get them?? Thanks!

Hey Joe,
They both came from Jeff Rapps.

Wildcaught,
No problem.

Problemz,
Thanks, that sucks you lost yours. I lost what I believe was a male right after I got them, it jumped out.

Davidefc,
I'll post some pics in the next couple days. I get irritated trying to get good pictures of my fish, it takes me so long and they come out looking like crap.:swear:

Are your bartoni and labridens from Media Luna? I collected there but we were not able to find a single bartoni. It was a crazy collecting trip, we had soldiers with machine guns just around the corner from us. At one point one of them came to us and we thought he was going to make us leave (Media Luna is a swimming hole/park for the locals) but he just did not want us in the area we were about to enter. It was really sort of thrilling since we were wondering if they were going to confiscate any of our stuff. One of the people with us had his scuba gear and a pretty expensive camera.

Hey zerelli,
My bartonis came from Conkel and the labridens I was told by Jeff were caught in Media Luna.
I bet that was pretty nerve wrecking. I would like to go there and collect some day. I was in Chiapas four years ago and visited places where it would have been a blast to collect, but with the rebel movement still pretty strong down there, it may not have been a good idea. Were you able to collect and bring back anything on that trip?

Man, you're killing me with the pics of the istlanum. I really miss my 10-11" monster male that committed suicide by banging the crap out of the tank glass :( I was thinking about picking up robertsoni or another Astatheros species (rhytisma or rostratus) this spring/summer. Or maybe H. pantosticus/minckleyi. But I'm starting to really think about snagging istlanum is Rapps has any available!! Very under-rated fish. Mine had tons of personality.

Any other photos of your other fish? Looks like you have a very nice collection (and similar to mine!).
