It would be difficult to describe how much fun I’ve had playing the guitar, and buying guitars, and repairing guitars, and building guitars; and the same for guitar amplifiers as well.
In fact I was so freaked out about the rate of inflation that a while back I cashed in all my chips and started buying tools and guitars and other useful things that will not disappear into zeros on somebody’s computer.
But that’s a different thread, and this one is about me getting back to work on the project car.
I reinstalled the master cylinder and the pedal assembly so I could check clearances. I removed the damaged brake line and bent & and installed a new one through the tunnel, which was a total pain as I was expecting. But now it’s done and I have the brake lines bent and installed.
I got the brake line brackets welded on this morning before it got hot.
I did not want to rehang the front axle until I had cleaned and painted it, and finished painting the chassis; however I wanted to close up the brake system ASAP, and test-fit the brake hoses.
Also the steering stops were never corrected and it steers too far left. The pitman arm hits the frame going right, so there the frame wants relief. No stop required. But the left stop wants modding. Without good stops it will stress the hoses, which is very bad juju.
So the axle is bolted back on, and it hangs from these four bolts. So does the front bumper brackets, and this will obviously come back apart for them, when I paint the axle.
I need to make a little bracket to hold my brake fluid reservoir and install the brake light switches before I can bleed the brakes. For now the system is air tight.
Since I’m working on the frame with a torque wrench I’ve got it supported with nine legs and a chain.
