lol funny. Walmarts around here have 200 watt heaters. these heaters are adjustable, but only have a "+" and "-" as indicators. having it all the way on the "+" kept my tank from 75 to 80 back and forth.

they also have "Aqua tech" filters which are a cheaply made penguin filter without bio wheels. they have them for 55 gallon tanks and smaller.

The heaters that I have from Walmart are pretty terrible; as said before, there is quite a bit of variation in the temperature that they maintain.

Surprisingly, my Aqua Tech filter from Walmart is much more reliable than my Penguin filter; I have had fewer problems with it than I have had with the Penguin. Of course then, both filters are nothing in comparison to some of the other filters on the market.

I agree, I started back in the hobby with a AquaTech filters and they seemed to be pretty reliable and accept the same filter as the penguins. I have since upgraded to Aquaclears and Emperors on my larger tanks but I still have a couple Aquatechs running on my fry growout tanks with no problems.

I refuse to pay the wealthy corporate monsters who use slave labor in foreign countries to make cheap merchandise to sell back to us. I really doubt anybody would shop there if Wal-Mart had their slaves visibly located at the store but still working and living in the same shacks and deplorable conditions they currently work in.

lol why would you boycott walmart

WalMart likes to throw their weight around and forces companies to sell their items at below tlcost. This in turn causes their suppliers to pay their workers less. Several companies make cheaper products just for WalMart, if you pay attention to their commercials they'll say the same brand/name as at other stores not the same model/item. Not to mention everything that is a WalMart only brand is garbage, too many people only look at the priceto determine if they're getting a deal. If you pay 15% less for an item that's 25% worse in quality you're getting ripped off.
