My grandpa came today. He talked about everything with us. My dad is convinced of 2 things which my grandpa brought up
#1
A retaining wall. My grandpa decided to bring up the retaining wall. I liked the idea of underground pond, but a retaining wall, I don’t really like those. He is also convinced he can do this without cement and STILL make it look good, which I don’t think will happen

The stream is a bad idea. Tbh, I think I would’ve been out of luck there. He liked that idea, but he decided it was too much. I was trying to convince him, but he decided he didn’t like it. So now he wants to do the koi pond, and then next summer build the native pond.
So big changes.
We find something to use as a retaining wall. The wall will be 17-18 inches tall. We can put the pond liner in between the stones of the retaining wall. Then, I can dig 2-2.5 feet down. I can build shelves. He likes the idea of plants and little dither-like fish. The amount of soil is actually insane. Without the retaining wall, it would be 9 cubic yards of dirt. 2,500lbs of dirt PER CUBIC YARD. So it would be easier that way.
