It's Pleco time...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for your kind words Oscar 300
yes us aussies are dedicated due to the high price we pay and availability is not good
however recently more and more ppl are importing so prices and availability is getting better:clap

and Wyldfya thanks also... my adonis is about 7cm not including tail and growing fast :)
Davo,I got all the L168's to breed them but nothing yet just started setup (4 ft )
also I hope to breed the royals :D they're only young though

I have heaps of breeding Africans;
Julie.d.chromis transcriptus 3 or 4 breeding pairs
elec. yellow,
red empress
alto. compressiceps... had 800 at one stage :)
a colony of 2 yr old 7 bar frontosas hopefully getting interested soon
a pair of polypterus endlicheri ... please please start getting jiggy wid it :naughty:

how about you guys ... bred anything interesting? or unexpectedly?
I like to buy at least 3 or more (of the cheaper fish ) to keep the best or match up pairs etc... then you can sell back the others after they've grown a bit and recoup the cost

cheers Jason
My breeding experience goes as far as angels, guppies, and ghost shrimp... at least for fish. I am preparing to breed some checker barbs soon, just have to set up a tank.

sod that, breed plecos. you know the L200 dream maybe....

for me and prolly most others breeding starts by discovering a few extra mouths to feed
that's the start of it then you want to breed something more challenging.... that's when I started breeding alto compressiceps
it can be addictive but also very rewarding don't you reckon?

your not far wrong there. ive been breeding plenty of easy to breed fish over my years of fishkeeping, but only one pleco. think im guna give it a try with something harder.

L200's that'd be cool :clap

race car driver over here called Peter Brock (legend) said once ....

i miss the first rio de parra i ever got but now that i know pleaco he was some kind of peckoltia but that was twenty years ago before it was popular to collect these guys

All the small Hypans and such are in a plec 190L corner tank. Its got 2 huge 2 1/2ft sides and a large bow front. All the messy stuff is in a 4ft 90gallon. There is a 7ft in the pipe line for my silver arrow and I will be whittling down the plecs to just a few special ones over time. I would love the arrow to be in with....

L273, growth rate is very fast with these guys
L360
L330
LDA65.....but the one I have now wont be big enough...boo.

And then a nice big L25. The corner tank will then be a breeding tank for somthing. The way the water flows is perfect for hypancistrus so who knows!! mmm zebs mmm!!
