How deep is your tank? My five aros live with my assortment for a little while right now. The 5 L200s, 2 L239, L333, L330, L264, and L106. I have not had any problems, and they used to be kept with an 18" common. Each pleco will be different.
 
if they get a taste for the slime coat on any finish, they'll never stop. they are like the terminator
 
Yeah, I know, I had it happen with a HUGE plec, but never to something that far away from the bottom.

you must have a bit of room for all the tanks they're in?

that sort of list would be worth mega bucks in Oz
you got a shop or just a devoted breeder?
 
sorry Davo am I whinging too much about Oz's crappy situation ...lol we are allowed some things
including a few nice plecos but most good stuff is not "cleared" by customs and because of our location anything imported is up for a long hazardous journey
so its :swear: expensive :cry:

that aro sounds nice. so how come you can have some but not others? is it cause they're some breeders on your little island or something?
 
yeah sorta ,
its all a bit dodgy really and lots of grey areas etc...
if you buy something and get a docket you can legally keep it...and if you can breed it its ok too, but if its not on the import list (just about everything nice) then LFS cannot sell it .
but some ppl do get it in the country and sell it for lotsa $
once in a while the authorities get all serious and start quarantining shops or bust someone and then it all goes quiet for a while ...:screwy:
they're afraid someone will throw their piranah in the local creek :eek:
