It's stuck!!! HELP!!

Between all the soap residue and what not, it might not be good for him.

Hadn't thought of that, good point. I'd go with a rubbermaid tub as well. I use them for quarantine tanks and they work great it you brace the top for bowing.

Have you tried holding it over the tank and shining a flashlight into the other end? They really hate light and he might drop out. I'm still not convinced that he's stuck. How long did you say he's been in there?

No, but I will try that first..

He's been in there for 4 days.

When I lift him out of the water he tries to come out, but he can't.

Hmmm, maybe he can be tricked into rotating to free himself? Odds are he swam in on the loose angle and then rotated to get locked in.

Four days isn't that long. Heck, he might lose his belly and be able to get out that way.

Did you already try gently tapping the tube into the palm of your hand, ketchup bottle style?

Nope, I will try anything I can before sawing.

He doesn't have a belly though.

In all honesty, I don't know how he has survived. He was in my community tank, and he hid in a gap in a piece of driftwood, and NEVER came out.

I often forget he is there until I see his tail or something.

He doesn't have a belly? This a striped raphael? They normally come out every night for food, and find it. They'll even eat turds to fill themselves. Seriously. The thin raphael cat is quite a rare creature.

He's not thin, but he sure isn't fat..

I'm trying to put him in a tank where he won't hide ALL the time to the point I forget he exists. lol.

Yepp.. striped raphael.

Like this guy:

Did he get stuck right after you moved him? He could just be playing ostrich. Look very closely at his fins. They can fold them flat against their bodies. If his fins are even slightly extended, he's probably staying there because he wants to. Got pictures?

i would try water pressure first.

I just noticed today he was stuck because he's been in the same position, so I wanted to take out the pipe so he didn't hide in it.

I tried to get him to close his fins, but they wouldn't budge.

No pics, will get some tomorrow.
