THE PROGRESSION BEGINS..............

Construction of the fish room.... ( will have day to day progress )
Day 1........ Materials are all paid for... but not all has been picked up because of a late start and store hours conflicting with pick up and drop off runs..

i have 2 doors, 15pc drywall, 4 windows, stucco cements on WILL CALL... All is paid off and ready for pick up tomorrow...
enclosement of the patio for my dedicated fish room starts 10hrs & counting.....:nilly:

( Heres a few pics of whats gonna be closed off and whats gonna be considered a ADD ONN to MI CASA!!!! )
Nice Brother can't wait to see the work :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

Beautiful tank ! simply beautiful.
I will be following this thread with gusto.

One question for you: are big acrylic tanks much more expensive than glass ones in the US? Where I come from, they´re almost the double (unless you opt for a tank with more than 30"h; that´s when the thicker glass is needed and the glass tanks get really expensive matching the cost of an acrylic one)

Congrats on the big tank. Perfect wood for that too. The overflow on the back will be nice. Having mine overflow on the side makes hiding the plumbing impossible where it's at. Are you insulating that new room? I've got my 600 (Joey's old beast) in my finished garage (that could probably use more insulation), and I definitely am running that 800w heater in the winter and struggling to keep it cool enough during summer. Very interested to see what you do for filtration.

acrylic is more expensive than glass.. dont know about other countries or states.. as the price differs. yes if you go higher than 30' tall.. both for acrylic or glass the thicker the material gets which ends up more dollars signs.

and thank you for the nice words......:)

The wood is not for the tank, its gonna be used to enclose the patio..im gonna go steel and possibly get creative with the stand. the overflow is definitely a plus because its external and no waste of space for swim room for the fishes.. i actually read your thread in regards to you purchasing joeys tank... i seen that tank in person, and its gorgeous also!! ;)
yes the room is gonna be fully insulated so hopefully i dont get as much as a temperature change as often..
im gonna go w/ 2x 1000w titanium digital heaters.. just to cover all bases..
filtration wise... i plan to overkill it.. but we will see as it gets closer.

and thank you for stoppin in with the kind words. :)

Ironically, I ran that 800 Watt heater into the ground just a little after I posted this. Heating element went kaput.

DAY 2... of Constructing the FISH ROOM.....

Today was a busy day...... frame work almost done.
Mostly spent the day running around and getting more material as needed.. But the progress was unbelievably going pretty quick!!

Tomorrow, is gonna be electrical day and some extra's... enjoy until then..:)
