I thought that too, however I have around 1000 feeders in there, shiners from 1" - 4" and fathead minnows 1" - 2.5", so there is a ton of food in there. I also feed raw shrimp and herring at night. I found the monster Cats would rather go for the easy meal over trying to take on a larger fish. However, still a chance here of a hard lesson learned I suppose though. Still working on the filtration but I do have a 3000 gal/hr trickle filter going and a 1500 gal/hr water polisher going and of course I took bio media ( about 300 pot scrubbies ) from other tanks filters to help kick start the system.
Very cool! I've wanted to do this for quite some time but built a pond with a storm window for a top because of humidity 
If I can figure out how to make a top for one of these...it will be in my basement soon lol
