Yeah!! All the cichla and cats have grown, it's crazy how fast their growing in the pool. I thought I may see a growth spurt but not like I have. My two Kels were about 12" when I put them in and I pulled one over the weekend for a quick exam, weigh and measure, he measured in at 14 3/4"!!
 
Nice growth spurt! If you weighed em....whatd the kel weigh? how bout some of the big orino's? YOu weigh them?

I just started weighing them, but I figured since I love keeping them so much I may as well study them as much as possible, so I recently started a study on growth and different types of foods / space provided.. The Kel I weighed was 2.8lbs. Once I get some real data on this study and some obvious differences noted, I'll probably share my data and records / photos here on MFK if I think it may help people. I'm also doing a few other interesting studies on cichla that may end up here as well for all to learn - but like with any study time is key to be able to obtain lots of data, see the differences and identify patterns / changes. Also may dive into milking but haven't just yet.
 
You might want to get a patch kit to have ready one of my cats poked a small hole in my pool. Just a heads up better to have it on hand and not need it, got mine at a pool store
