I do not think that anyone knows for sure.
I have had temporary issues where the water got colder than that but, never for a period longer than 24 hours.
I think that the rays will be fine. Their growth and metabolism will slow down but, they will be fine. I am sure that there are systems in the amazon that get much cooler at certain times of the year than the 80+ degrees we keep them at regularly.
As a matter of fact, I will be shocked if they do not do well for you.

When the power went out in my garage last year, I had my rays at 70 degrees for about 5-6 days..they became really lethargic and quit eating food, so I decided it was time to move them..

Normally, during winter, I maintain my african cichlids between 20ºC/68ºF and 22ºC/72ºF. And some American cichlids to. Normally the African Cichlids even reproduce at these temperatures.
This Motoro, despite the low temperature, are still eating well. The water continues near 21ºC/70ºF and there is no sun so, its not going to warm in the next few days
. The weather report for the next 15 days its not much different then today. Clouds and rain. The air temperature between 6ºC/43ºF and 17ºC/63ºF. So I believe that next weekend Im going to put the heaters on but for 23ºC/73ºF. Not more. I think they are going to be fine at those temperatures, dont you?

. Its dangerously low. Now Im a little bit worried because Im going there only tomorrow afternoon and its when Im going to put the heaters on. I hope that nothing happens until tomorrow.
