Hey i Live in Raleigh nc and was wondering if you would possibly sell one? there is no fish i would rather have more and well worth the drive for me. I have beautiful new 125 waiting for it. let me know

I hadn't really thought about selling any of them nate, pm me and we'll talk....

paddlefish update: The paddlefish are still doing great, very interesting fish, they feed well and are non aggressive. I have a jump rock and some black banded sunfish in with them along with ottos, cory's and some coolie loaches. The paddlefish would not do well with fish that are aggressive feeders but so far they are doing well with tank mates... It's is true they never stop swimming :nilly:

WOW I just fed my paddlefish some daphnia and as watched them feed I saw one swoop down and grab a black banded sunfish and swallow it! Evidently our mild mannered paddlefish are not so mild or mannered! The paddlefish was about 5" and the sunfish was about 1", I wonder what an adult paddlefish would do to a school of minnows, or a school of shad? I've noticed what looked like the paddlefish lunge at an otto a few times but he missed so badly I figured it was just a fluke. I wonder what wild adults would do to a school of minnows or shad?

1. Have you thought about selectively breeding them for size? Seems like someone's already started the process by giving you runts. Get them small enough for the aquarium trade.

2. If they eat 1" sunfish then they'd eat guppy frys. Seems a guppy tank would supply some feeders.

Congrats on the paddlefish, really an interesting experiment you have going.

The generations are so long I'm not sure if it could be done in one persons life time, it take 5 or 6 years for them to get to breeding age... But if you worked at it they might get there eventually.

I am sure they would scoop up baby guppies for sure, it would take dozens of them to excite a feeding response, one on one they don't seem to be interested but once the feeding response gets going they will try to scoop up anything alive or that smells good, it has to be floating or suspended in the water column, i have not seen them scoop anything from the bottom yet....

Congrats on the paddlefish, really an interesting experiment you have going.

thank you

Those fish are so awesome! Very nice sir.

I wish they would stay on the smaller size because I would love to have some!
