IN YOUR HEAD
it is 8"...when i was moving it to the big tank it jumped out of the container i had it in...i had it covered, but one of my kids go it my way and when i stoped the top shifted and the aro jumped...it fell 2' to the floor...it hit head first on the side that has DE...it got DE mins after the impact...i was hoping that it was just swelling from the trama, but after week it has not gone away...here are the best pics i can get...i got this one realy early in the season so i am sure it was farmed...could genetics be a contributor in the ease of getting it?...head trama was the FOR SURE cause in this case...

There you have it. Another incident where head trauma led to DE.

yes but normally it doesn't start till later around 15"+...my other aro got it after it jumped out a around 10" though

DE aside it looks like i am on track with the growth to get this one to 24"+ in 10 months like the last one...i got this aro on 1-13-10 at around 2-2.5"...around 3"+ a month growth...i will find a pic of it at that size...

Here's my story.
My 3" arowana was fine, after a week she developed DE.
I fed her strictly hikari aro pellets and FD krill and bloodworms.
Before I took her to the vet.(that's another story) she jumped out of the container, hit a cabinet, jumped off of that hit a few really thick books and then proceeded to land on carpet.
I don't think trauma directly causes DE.
