JACK DEMPSEY DYING PLEASE HELP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ur jack is extremely stress how is ur water testing? What were the jacks tank mates in the other tank? I've seen this happen before n the fish pulls through but i also see it happen n the fish doesn't make it.... It was a good idea to move him i would do a water change and try to feed him..... give him some time with the lights off..... Hopefully he pulls through this stress and gets better.....

hes with a 6" female Freddi, 2 2" jacks, 5 baby small jaguars, and 3 assorted africans in a 75 gallon.
water is in tip top shape in both tanks

also, he hides ALL the time in this cave in the large tank.
damn, really the stress?

Yea if u say he hides all the time he is stressed.... There is alot of things that could be happening in that tank....
2 male jacks aggression
The africans can be really territorial
Even the baby jags can be aggresive even tho they r young..... Its hard to say exactly u have to watch the tank to see who the bully is...
Like i said let the jack chill out on his own with the light off n hopefully he pulls through....
U should do a check on ur water to make sure ur numbers are good also

Good luck....

I had an eel that did this to me once. Almost looked like he was having a seizure. I had been treating him for parasites and figured he died from an overload of parasites. I think he was too far gone to be saved. How long have you had this fish? Have you introduced any new fish into your tank without quarantine? Also as Eli said, it's a good idea to test the water to be sure everything is in range.

the water is good
ive had him for about 6 weeks or so. no new fish
hes looking a bit better now. hes still in quarantine
im gonna give him some bloodworms in a bit and see if it helps

Raise temp to 86 and add salt.
