I used an HP Photosmart 612. Its an older type camera and the only thing that I did was not let it flash when I took the pics. A camera like Aquamojo is the way to go for taking pics of fish.
One week down. The JD has had a great start. Did another 20-30% WC today. The Dempsey has eaten every food I have presented him, including a large mosquito and a house fly. The only change I have seen this week is in her/his coloration, the number of blue specks has probably doubled. I do not know if this is due to a improved diet from what it was eating at the Aquaculture & LFS or if it is due to maturing. Enjoy this weeks pics and thanks for all the feedback.
Awesome JD! I'm on my first JD conquest and love'n the little guy. I'm just wondering if he/she will mate with my Texas. I've seen the hybrid before and kinda like it. I guess only time will tale.
No flash is great for color, but with the lighting I have in the tank, I have to set the shutter speed to 1/6 of a second, which means the fish has to stay perfectly still to get a focused shot on my point and shoot digital. With flash the shutter speed is 1/400 of a second, so the shots are easier to get in focus. I will continue to post both with and without, but i agree with everyone when they say no flash are better pics. The last pic is my favorite i have taken so far.
Here it is with levels adjusted, cropped, and turned up contrast. Enjoy!
