Do not put a Jag in a 55 with a JD. Jags put on size very quickly and their aggression grows with their size. You say your bigger tank is two years away. A Jag will not let a JD stay in a 55gal with it for two years. The JD will either be killed or stressed and beat so badly that it dies on its own. Save the Jag for later. Get a coulpe of male cons instead.
