... Thanks I got a chuckle out of your comment... Thanksgiving turkey lol..... when i try to take pics he's always on the move... the only way I could get him to slow down is to feed ..but then when I feed he tries to eat it all ..I mean the fish is greedy as I don't know what.. I try to get good pics of all of them and big boy / girl runs the other away to get to it.....but does this jag look like a female...absolutely... my opinion based on the many jags I have seen is that they all look like females untill they reach that point in their development when they transform into their male pattern.... If you haven't already looked at JagsandPits male jag that he posted on page 8... look at the metamorphosis that it had from that pic he posted when it was about 5 inches or so to the 9 10 inch range.... Of course I'm not 100 percent sure but I believe mine is heading in that direction.... I do value and welcome and respect everyones opinion on this and I hope you all keep following it till we know.... Here's the latest shots from today... "He"stayed still long enough for me to take 3 pics in a row.... After a turkey dinner of course

Nice.... I missed your male did you post post him?.....you are at least the 5th person(that I know of ) on this forum that has a spawning pair of Jags.....between all those jags they wont go extinct... if there is another great flood the jags are taken care of.. oh wait a flood wont hurt fish...

he is a young guy, about 6" only been in tank week today. so still shy, females about 2" bigger than him. that not last long. she best own him while she can.

Great looking..he's got that wild caught look too....hard for me to put into words other than they look more menacing and predatory.. does he have he have visible teeth?...seems like most wc ones tend to....Winston smiths wild caught male has been a favorite of mine this one may challenge....

You and Mr smith with the wild caughts......where I bought my male from in philly the store worker stated they fly their fish in from "south America"...I was in a hurry and didn't think to get more clarity on that so I can only hope lol....my female I got here in upstate new York at my favorite non chain lfs......

Well everyone...going back to the last pics of my biggest grow out....I was waiting to see if anyone would point it out(pun intended)....if you focus or zoom in you can see that the fish has a pointed male genital papillae....the belly full of food makes it stick out of position some but it looks the same to me as the parental males did when he was about that size and has the same triangular shape as the male parents does now...unless an expert fish venter says otherwise(like a Jeff rapps)...it is for sure a male....
