I know u got your way of sexing these young jags, and you may be right in most cases, but just saying that the profile of your largest Jag growout looks 100% female. Don't see many male Jags with that rounded belly like that, and not rounded from eating too much. If your way is right that would disprove that theory... Nice looking Jag either way though.

Thanks...I can't blame you for thinking female about my jag ...very fat and round.... but here is my rational for saying male.... look a these pics I borrowed from the net:)....male jags... and not necessarily all with the expected male look....examine mine in the last shot....zoom in to the underside area just before the anal fin and. compare (the first 3 pics then mine the last)...males have pointed genital papillae......

In the last couple of weeks, my male's colours have got better and better. I went away for the weekend last week and came home to find him now keeping both females in check (no small task seeing as they were both ganging up on him just a week ago). Thinking of re-homing the 2 females at the weekend and letting him fly solo. Just concerned that his colours / pattern might fade once he doesn't have anyone to square up to. Would I be better to stagger the removal of the females instead of both at once? Thoughts?
