At redtigeroscar, if you are looking for a pair your best bet is to get 7 or so fry around 1-2" or so and let them pair on their own. If you can find some that have already paired and you like them get those. I would start off with a 75 gallon, long term I think a 125 gallon is the best. IMO most wont need that size tank for at least a few years. They are active fish that swim a lot so a larger tank is best. No other fish in the tank. I would advise to keep breeding pairs solo unless you have a very large tank, over 180 gallons. When paring fish from fry I just leave all the fish in the tank until a pair forms a good bond. I think it helps to leave some others in there for a little while as the new pair form a strong bond. Keep a good eye on the new pair and tank mates, you don't want the others to get beat to death. Have other tanks ready to take out the extras after aggression gets to bad.
