male.

females tend to not have so many spots on them once they reach closer to an adult size and they are a noticeable yellowish color. the fins are also more pointed on this fish.

:iagree:

im saying male i had this same issue myself the hint of blue in the fins is 1 reasoning for me and also the fact that body pattern cloesly ressembles my jag not alot on the, but still some dark vertical line patching at a young age and size

Blue on the fins makes you think male? Females develope this trait as well, in fact my female has more fin color than her mate. Anyways i still say its a female since it hasnt laid any eggs, body shape resembles that of a female and coloration is kind of 50/50.GL.

i am going to have to say female i do see the body shape of a female a little more rounded and my female Jag also does have the blue on her fins and it seems to still have its vertical stripes which would indicate female but maybe it is a male who hasn't lost it...

you never know ha ha

i just posted a thread not to long ago asking the same thing and most mfkers said male and mine looks exactly like yours but a little bigger so if mine is a male then urs is a male.:)

i'm afraid it really doesn't look exactly like your jaguar, your fish's body is different includeing facial structure and facial markings, plus your has common male body shape, this one looks totally different, but they have basically the same body marking's which may indicate a common area that the original wild caught ones that your's were raised from generations ago were collected.< i'm guessing both of your's are from LFS's

if you look at your male, and my male and compare them to the one posted you can tell that there's a huge amount of difference, the more and more i look at duck's one the more i beleive female, but i won't jump to conclusions until the fish is larger, nor should anybody else here.
