jag tank size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
would be fine for a female but would be a little small for a male but if there was little decorations just lots of room to swim it should be fine male jags CAN get 18'' and theres rumors of 20'' jags but most are lucky to reach 16'' females will get to around 14'' so i'd go for it that tank would make a jag happy for a long time

what a bull****
100 gallon is to small for a female also,
my friend got a couple jags
male 19"
and female 17"
my jags are 16"and 12",,and just 2 years old

so,,NO a 100 gallon isnt big enough for jags.
better take a bit bigger tank,or smaller fish.
100 gallon is just enough for a jd or gt,,but thats my opion.
maaaaaaaaaybe u can try friedrichstahlii, they are a bit smaller then managuensis..
or motaguensis,14"but they need a big territory as well
salvini maybe,,.10"

all your monster jags ur talking about being 19 and 17 and such i want to see them on a tape. with the tape being held above the fish and not below because it gives false reading when you take a pic of a fish with the tape below and not above. there are some members on here with old jags that made it to 15 inches and i believe rallys was 15 when it died of old age. you can search and search on here and your not going to find many 18 inch jags if any. a 100 would be fine. most websites say max size is 14-16 inches which holds true with the older jags on here. if there are any bigger then they are exceptions.

:ROFL:Don't you guys use the metric system over there? I think your conversion of centimeters to inches may be a little off. Not that I dispute jags can get that big, but a 10" salvini:screwy: not a chance

Also american 100gallon is much larger then a U.K. 100 gallon.

+1
We've all heard rumors about 20" jags, 16" oscars, and 2' convicts, but with-out solid photographic proof then they're just urban legends IMO.
Try phone Guinness and ask them to put you in the Records Book for breaking a record even tho no one saw you do it. ;)

Hes from the netherlands btw, also an american 100 us gallon is 378(ish)litres and UK 100 gallon is 454litres(ish) so UK gallon is bigger than a US.
