I recently bought a jager heater and I had a bad experience with it. I have a 75gal. and I keep the temp at 80. I took the two cheap heaters out , set the jager at 77 , locked it in place and stuck it in the tank. I pluged it in , the light came on (thought that was weird) and I waited about a hour and came back to check on things. The temp was 82 so unpluged the jager , took it out , set it at its lowest temp and hooked it back up again. I checked the temp again , about a hour later , and it read 84. I unpluged the jager again took it out and this time I touched it to see how warm it was. I almost burned my hand , wont do that again. I thought I had one of the best heaters on the market but considering what I just went through , I DONT THINK SO. Has anyone else experienced this issues with a jager?......Ohhh and btw the jager I bought was 200w

The only heaters I ever had a problem with were Whisper heaters. I currently run 2 Jager hetaers and 1 Stealth. And all of them run great!

WOW, Kind of surprized. I've been running jager's for years and have never had a problem with them. You should contact jager and see if they'll send you another one under warantee..

I think, as a society, we should learn that retail products should always be checked before usage. Don't assume they will work. Considering national/international manufacturers produce upward of 500 million of the same products, even with quality control they are bound to have defects. Would you buy a car without test driving it? Not a fair analogy, but basically the same concept. It's really not Jager's fault.

I recently had a heater go out on me. It stuck on and almost cooked my fish. Lucky I was sitting at the tank as I watched the temp climb and my temp buzzer went off. That temp warning device I bought for 20.00 was the best money I ever spent and saved my fish. Now I have decided that I will only trust the Marineland Stealth heaters. I really like how they work and how they are designed.

Exactly

had jagers for years -and still do - and never had any problems with them. Currently I have them in (atleast) 6 tanks ranging from 100W to 300W. Others have let me and my fishes down but not jagers. And Eheim ;) Great stuff
