Jags and Cons in Hawaii canals!

I'm on one of my anual visits to Honolulu and I saw some 10-12" jags swimming in the canals here! Also saw some cons and, what looks like other central/south American cichlids! Being from California, I feel like fishing em out and keeping them as pets. Theyre some real stunners. Any Hawaiian locals catch or see anything interesting out here?

if you want some nice peacock bass.
lake willson in wahiawa is a good place to fish for em.

Pbass in Wilson lake. I've seen RDx???? Up by Palisade falls.

from what I have read, the introduction of aquarium fish into Hawaii's native waters has introduced diseases like the parastic worm camallanus and affecting native fish species there..

sucks..but thats what happens when pet keepers dump their stock into places where they will survive and breed...

Theres a stream right in back of the jungle river mini putt coarse by toys r us thats full of convicts and other types of cichlids. Ive also caught some really nice red devils in lake wilson.
