Has anybody ever tried putting a local wild fish in there tank??

Also has anybody used a foam background and bottom?? im thinking about buying one but i have a concern, 1 would be i would figure the foam would act as a fdilter and within a few months would smell horrible. Has anybody tried them?

right now in my 75 i have a longear sunfish about 3'' and about a 3.5 to 4'' jag..they're fine but im giving my longear to my friend pretty soon for his 29

my jags are brutal....until my jar steps in lol!! but yeah equally robust fish can be kept with jags :)

i got one adult jag and 5 babies and the adult seems fin with other fish for a week but then beats the hell outa them , i havent even tryed putting anything other then guppies in with the babbies but they seem to get along even tho the guppies are supose to be there food.

i have about the wierdest set up for my growout 55 gallon...

i have a jag- 4 inches
a nic- 4inches
firemouth- 3 inches
frontosa- 3 inches
and a jack dempsy- 4 inches

i have never seen them fight...they all eat fine together no aggression when feeding, i will throw some roseys in once and a while and the jag will get the majority, but they all seem to live well together for now. i think fish keeping is more of a trial and error sometimes, not everyones fish are the same, just go with what you think and test it out, but dont let it get too ugly or u might have some dead fishies.

my jag is in the tank with a senegal bichr about 8in and a 4in jack dempsy also a 6in wolf fish not dovii. and the jag is about 9in. he chases the jack dempsy the most but the wolf fish is very vervous and alwas hides

My jag lives in a 175gal with some Africans big and small, some catfish and a couple of convicts.
No Problems @ all, invect 1 of the smaller Africans chases him around most of the time.
