Jaguar Cichlid or Senegal Bichir / Questions

In my experience, birchirs always get ignored. Word to the wise, however since the senegal is a narrow fish, you should buy it first and allow it grow before purchasing the jag. The jag will not hesitate to chomp what can fit in its mouth, particularly if it is not being fed live foods. It will be more likely to fill the void in its diet. Personal jag experience 10 yrs. Just what I've noticed.

Also, my jags grow 1"/month to 3"then 1.5"/month to 8". Growth slows after that to .5"/month

perfect that's what i was looking for a specific growth rate, so how big would you recommend letting the polypterus get before getting the jag? the ones they are tyipcally selling (jags) are between 2 and 3" so maybe let the bichirs reach 5" before adding the cichlid?
